RezUp vs Teal: focused resume building vs a weekly-billed platform
We registered for Teal and ran the full flow ourselves (August 2026). Credit where due: Teal’s free tier is one of the most generous — unlimited resumes, watermark-free PDF export, ten templates. But it is a whole job-search platform, and its business model is a subscription billed from about $13 per week, with the monthly plan pre-selected at checkout and the useful depth (analyzer suggestion details, the full keyword comparison list, unlimited AI) locked behind it. In our test its AI also invented a fictional “30%” metric the resume never contained. RezUp is deliberately narrower: just an honest resume builder with free ATS scoring including the full missing-keyword list, AI that refuses to fabricate facts, real PDF and DOCX export, and no subscription of any kind.
- No subscription vs ~$13/week billing (monthly plan pre-selected at checkout)
- Full ATS keyword comparison free — Teal locks the complete missing-keyword list behind Teal+
- AI that never invents metrics — Teal’s AI added a fictional “30%” figure in our test
- Real text-based PDF and DOCX export, unlimited downloads
- No account needed; your resume stays in your browser
Competitor pricing and free-tier limits last re-verified against their public pricing pages: August 2026.
Free during beta: every plan is fully unlocked at no charge — editor, ATS templates, match score, AI tools and PDF/DOCX downloads. Plans are $9.99/$19.99 one-time when billing opens. No card, no auto-renewal, nothing that renews.
